Part 19: Oschino on His Son Getting 20-40 Years for Murder
Part 1: Oschino on Growing Up During Crack Era in Philly, Parents on Crack, Sent to Foster Care

--------

Oschino discussed his harrowing experience with addiction after being prescribed Percocets following a gunshot wound in 1997. He revealed that he was unaware of the drug's addictive properties, being just 18 when doctors prescribed it. Although frequent stints in jail inadvertently curtailed his addiction, Oschino experienced withdrawal symptoms whenever incarcerated. This period of forced sobriety gave him the strength to quit cold turkey. He also acknowledged the widespread issue of pill addiction in his community, noting Beanie Sigel's similar struggles with lean and pills. Oschino highlighted how addiction often stems from coping with trauma, particularly in environments where violence and incarceration are seen as normal. For him, prison not only eradicated his access to substances but also fostered a life of sobriety and clarity.
