Erik Prince shared insights into a critical lapse by the Secret Service during a prior assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Prince emphasized how the assassination attempt underscored significant security flaws, particularly in perimeter security. He criticized the Secret Service for not securing sightlines up to 1,000 meters, the effective range of a skilled sniper. According to Prince, there were unguarded buildings only 140 yards away, a failure he partly attributes to both local police and the Secret Service's lack of diligence. He pointed out the disparity in security detail, comparing Trump's security with that of First Lady Jill Biden. Prince argued that Jill Biden, with no constitutional authority, was allocated three times the security detail than Trump received, despite his being a former president and the Republican nominee.
