Young MC discussed a significant setback in his music career. After achieving success with his debut album, which went platinum and earned a Grammy, Young MC left his label, Delicious Vinyl, due to longstanding financial disputes and unpaid royalties. The situation escalated to a lawsuit, which was eventually settled out of court, allowing him to sign a new deal with Capitol Records. However, one of the most poignant lost opportunities in Young MC's career involved a potential collaboration with Michael Jackson. According to Young MC, his manager at the time requested an advance for a feature on a Michael Jackson track, which he believes led to the collaboration falling through. Reflecting on the missed opportunity, Young MC emphasized that he would have gladly collaborated with Jackson for free, recognizing the immense potential such a collaboration could have unlocked for his career. This incident significantly influenced his decision to stop using management in the future.
