Rotimi opened up about his journey from college to the music industry and his experience with T.I.'s Grand Hustle. Upon graduating from Northwestern, Rotimi faced financial challenges while living in Hyde Park, Chicago. Despite his father’s temporary financial support, Rotimi and his manager hustled tirelessly, treating music as a full-time job, even when down to their last dollars. This dedication eventually led to acting opportunities. Initially skeptical about acting, Rotimi was encouraged by his manager and a small boutique agency to pursue it. A chance audition for the TV show "Boss," despite being told the role was already cast, marked a turning point. Through his role on the Kelsey Grammer show, Rotimi met T.I. who was impressed with his musical talent. Despite being offered a deal by T.I., he turned it down, feeling he needed to first establish his unique identity as an artist before aligning with a major label.
