Rotimi shared the compelling story of how he landed the role of ‘Dre’ on 50 Cent’s hit series "Power," a role he famously competed for against renowned actor LaKeith Stanfield. Rotimi's audition process was anything but simple. With just $2,000 to his name and facing financial uncertainty, he took a risk by flying to LA for the audition, spending nights in a rundown motel. In a stroke of luck, he managed to negotiate a reduced rate with the motel's manager and relied on a friend to help him put together a taped audition. Surviving on wit and charm, Rotimi spent his days perfecting his role. In the final test against LaKeith Stanfield, Rotimi's determination and raw talent helped him secure the role. Despite the competition, Rotimi reflects on the experience fondly, pointing out that Stanfield has also gone on to have great success in his acting career.
