Rotimi discussed his hit "In My Bed," which features the same Enya sample as the Fugees' classic "Ready or Not." The track, powered by Harmony Samuels' production, quickly became a platinum record despite Rotimi managing music alongside a demanding acting schedule for the series "Power." Rotimi shared his experience working under pressure, emphasizing that even quick, focused sessions can yield major hits. However, even with its success, using a well-known sample came with its own set of challenges. Rotimi revealed that after negotiations, he ended up with only 10-12% of the song's revenue due to the dominance of the Enya sample. Reflecting on these terms, Rotimi acknowledged the sacrifice, but sees it as a step towards long-term success. Looking forward, Rotimi is excited about his upcoming double album "In My Heart/In My Veins," which integrates both his R&B and Afrobeat influences, marking a first-of-its-kind in the industry.
