Actor Michael Rapaport shared an intimate glimpse into his experience working with the late filmmaker John Singleton on the film "Higher Learning." Rapaport highlighted Singleton's exceptional enthusiasm for filmmaking, describing him as a "film geek" who genuinely loved every aspect of the process—from acting to cinematography. This passion translated into immense support for his actors, encouraging them to embrace their roles fully. According to Rapaport, Singleton urged him to portray his character, Remy, authentically, even when it involved using the N-word. This was particularly significant given that Rapaport played a racist character on a predominantly Black set. Singleton's encouragement allowed Rapaport to perform without fear of offending others, fostering a supportive and creative environment.
