Comedian Capone Lee recently opened up about the New York Kings of Comedy's journey, including legal clashes with The Original Kings of Comedy. Capone explained the inception of New York Kings, originally formed with fellow comics Tony Harris, Rob Stapleton, Mark Viera, and Drew Frazier. Internal conflicts, like Frazier's altercation over money and Gerard Kelly's disputes over booking, led to some members exiting the group.

A significant revelation was their legal dispute with The Original Kings of Comedy, featuring icons like Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer. The lawsuit was initiated over the use of the 'Kings of Comedy' name, but Capone revealed they discovered the name was originally owned by Jerry Lewis. Consequently, the original group had to modify their name, which led to the New York team rebranding as New York Kings Live.
