Rico 2 Smoove recently opened up about witnessing his mother’s battle with addiction during his childhood. Recalling his turbulent past, Rico shared that his family often faced homelessness, bouncing between shelters and the homes of friends. His mother struggled to maintain stability and often prioritized her next fix over home life, a situation that deeply affected him. Rico was the only child at home, as his brother was in prison, and he expressed how his mother’s addiction turned him away from substances and made him dislike his mother. Despite the challenges, the prospect of losing custody spurred his mother to change. She went cold turkey after CPS intervened, striving to regain control of their lives. Remembering those days, Rico acknowledges his mother’s efforts to rehabilitate herself, appreciating her journey towards sobriety, marked by NA meetings and rebuilding family bonds.
