Rico 2 Smoove spoke candidly about his older brother's tumultuous life and tragic end. His brother, a Piru Blood gang member, was sentenced to life without parole over attempted murder charges in 2003, exacerbated by gang enhancements. Rico detailed the 22-year age gap between them, recounting limited childhood memories, as his brother was frequently in and out of juvenile detention facilities. Due to his brother’s subsequent incarceration, they remained largely out of touch, especially after his transfer to Pelican Bay. By 2014, Rico's brother passed away in prison. The rapper described the profound impact his brother's life and death had on him, painting him as a "respectful" and "upstanding" individual despite his circumstances.
