Part 1: YSL Mondo on Meeting Young Thug, Co-Founding YSL, Names Original 6 Members

In a recent interview with Vlad TV, YSL Mondo, an artist associated with the Young Stoner Life (YSL) collective, addressed allegations about the group's ties to the Bloods gang, specifically the Sex Money Murder subset. Mondo clarified that YSL started as a familial unit rather than a gang offshoot. "We didn't come up with a plan to say, hey, there's going to be a branch off of... we started something of ourselves; this is our little family," he explained, distancing YSL from any direct gang affiliations.

The conversation also touched on the historical roots of Bloods in Atlanta, highlighting how the New York-based Sex Money Murder found its way to the region. Mondo acknowledged his own affiliation with the Bloods dating back to around 2009. He mentioned several individuals linked to YSL who have faced legal issues, including Duke, Gunna, and his brother Dick Slug, emphasizing the close-knit nature of their community. While Young Thug didn't formally adopt the YSL prefix, he played a crucial role in popularizing the movement globally through his music, contributing significantly to its recognition and growth.
