Weinstein criticized the release as harmful and unnecessary, focusing instead on preparing for Gotti's trial.
Weinstein expressed the substantial workload his team inherited when Young Thug accepted a plea deal, leaving few defendants in trial. This shift required Gotti's defense to rapidly adapt and prepare extensively. Yak Gotti declined a plea deal that proposed 15 years in prison, as it involved admitting responsibility for a murder he asserts he was uninvolved in—the death of Donovan Thomas.
