Stephen A. Smith is sounding off on the backlash that artists like Soulja Boy, Snoop Dogg, and Nelly are receiving after performing at Donald Trump's inauguration on Monday (January 20).
Smith started off speaking about the money that Soulja Boy got for his performance at the inaugural Crypto Ball celebrating President Donald Trump, which Smith said looks like at least six figures. He then went on to speak about the backlash that Snoop Dogg was receiving.
Smith stated, "This brother sending cats to college, he sending cats to the NFL, we just gon’ ignore that? Because he performed at the inauguration?"
This comes after Soulja Boy defended his decision to perform at the Crypto Ball, stating, "They paid me a bag. Obama ain’t never put no money in my f**king pockets, n***a. Kamala ain’t never put no money in my f***ing pockets, n***a.
"Trump put money in my pockets, n***a….Y’all suck my d***, n****. Y’all want me to not answer the phone for the f***ing president? This n**** [is] the president of the motherf***ing United States. Trump wasn’t even there. It wasn’t even a Trump event. It was the Crypto Ball for crypto."
