Sexyy Red took to Twitter on Monday (January 20) to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with an AI-generated photo of her dancing with the civil rights icon.
The photo showed King holding hands with Sexyy Red and dancing in what appears to be a club. She didn't create a caption for the photo, which left social media divided, with some people calling it disrespectful. One of those people happens to be King's daughter, Bernice.
Bernice, who is a lawyer, global thought leader, and activist, took to X to react to Sexyy Red's post, writing, "This is intentionally dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful of my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty." Bernice King then implored Sexyy Red to "Please delete" the post.
