Lee recalled two past encounters with Spears, one in front of Caroline's comedy club, where he felt Spears did not reciprocate his greetings. Although Lee expressed admiration for Spears' comedic talents and impressions, these incidents left him perplexed. Addressing these claims, Spears clarified that he does not remember the encounters, stating he would acknowledge anyone who greeted him respectfully. Spears attributed any perceived aloofness to his youth and career beginnings, explaining that his unique journey as a teenage comedian in adult comedy clubs may have projected a sense of arrogance. Spears performed alongside big names, like Bill Bellamy, during that time, juggling club appearances with school and maintaining a solitary path because of his age. Spears emphasized that he never intended to be disrespectful, suggesting that any misunderstandings might have resulted from his youthful circumstances.
