Former U.S. Army Ranger sniper Nicholas Irving discussed a troubling incident involving the Secret Service during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The potential assassin had positioned himself in the bushes near Mar-a-Lago as Trump was playing golf. Despite one Secret Service agent detecting movement and firing his weapon, he failed to hit the target, missing every shot at close range. Although he acknowledged the agent's skill in detecting the threat, Irving emphasized the need for better marksmanship and preparedness within the Secret Service.
