Tay Savage recently recounted his experiences in prison where he served eight years of a 20-year sentence for robbery. Savage revealed he was just 22 when incarcerated, meaning he missed out on much of his twenties. While in prison, he witnessed frequent altercations, including violence between inmates and guards, but avoided severe incidents himself. Despite the harsh environment, Tay made constructive use of his time behind bars. He earned a degree in cosmetology, equipping himself with skills like hairstyling, nail care, and massage therapy. Interestingly, Savage also shared that he encountered fellow inmate and rapper King Von. The two communicated by passing notes, or "kites," due to being on lockdown. Reflecting on his journey, Tay's eight-year imprisonment offered a unique opportunity for personal growth and skill development, setting him on a new path post-release.
