J. Cole recently celebrated his 40th birthday, which he reflected on with his first blog post on "The Algorithm," his blog on his Inevitable website. In the post, Cole told fans that he was "grateful" for celebrating another milestone.

He wrote, "Finally pulled the trigger. Bare [sic] with us as we still developing this page and the layout. Might save the sentimentals for a post tomorrow," he wrote. "But in a nutshell I'm grateful."

He then appeared to hint at new music this year, writing, "Happy new year to y'all and God bless. 2025 will be a good one. We said that we was gon make it as a kid, and we finally did, but…"

This comes amid anticipation for J. Cole's next album, The Fall Off, which doesn't have a release date so far. The album was first mentioned on is KOD track, "1985." Cole then updated fans with a calendar release of his albums leading up to The Fall Off, which fans are hopeful will arrive sometime this year.
