Too Short's brother was killed in a shooting in East Oakland on Wednesday (January 29) which sources confirmed with Bay Area news outlet KRON4.

Police revealed that the shooting occurred just after 7 a.m. in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue. A group of individuals reportedly tried to break into a cannabis growing facility with their vehicle, and when 61-year-old Wayne Shaw came out to confront them, he was shot multiple times. Shaw was later transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

So far, no arrests have been made, but police are searching for multiple suspects.

Terry Butler, who is also known as Terry T and Mr. Community, spoke on Shaw's death, stating, "The streets really respected him. He really was somebody who people looked at for advice." Speaking about Wayne being the older brother of Too Short, he added, "It’s not easy living in the shadow of a brother who was famous. And he was one of the greatest shadows you’d ever meet, because he embraced the shadow."

Too Short shared two videos on Instagram on Thursday, with the first one being captioned, "Real Tears." The legendary rapper shed tears as he was listening to the 1977 track "Angel" by funk band Ohio Players. He followed up with a second video captioned, "Aint really replying to a lot of texts or answering calls right now. I can’t."
