The charges against Shundale Barnett, one of the men tied to Young Dolph's murder case, were dropped just one day after he was arrested.

Barnett was initially charged with accessory after the fact, and he was accused of helping his cousin, Justin Johnson, flee Memphis after Young Dolph was murdered. In November, Johnson was convicted of murdering Young Dolph and sentenced to life in prison plus 35 years.

Both Johnson and Barnett were arrested in a rental car in Indiana in 2021, and as the case unfolded, authorities say it became clear that Barnett was not involved in the murder case. However, due to a clerical issue, the warrant for his arrest was never wiped from the system.

The DA’s office addressed the issue: "As the investigation progressed, the DA’s Office determined that Barnett was not involved in the case and chose not to pursue charges, indicating the charge would be withdrawn. However, a delay in recalling the warrant left it active in the system. This clerical issue has now been resolved, and the charges against Barnett have been officially dismissed."
