Trejo recounted a meeting with Olmos, warning against the potential repercussions, which Olmos attributed to artistic expression. The portrayal in the film led to significant fallout, with Trejo asserting that ten people associated with the film were killed, and there was even a hit on Olmos's life. Consequently, Olmos had to carry a gun for his protection.
