Gillie Da Kid was the latest celebrity to sit down with Shannon Sharpe on his "Club Shay Shay" platform, and Shannon brought up the death of Philly high school basketball star Noah Scurry.
Shannon explained that Scurry was gunned down in January, which shocked the community, as Scurry was a gifted athlete and had the highest SAT score at the school. Gillie said that he was familiar with Scurry, and he went on to reveal that police told him that Scurry was the person who killed his son, YNG Cheese, in 2023.
Gillie explained that his son was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was killed, adding that two blocks were beefing, and YNG Cheese was caught up in a drive-by. Police told Gillie that Scurry was close to being arrested and charged with Cheese's murder at the time he was killed.
Gillie spoke about how he could see that Scurry was being influenced by the streets, and he pointed to the high school basketball star being an aspiring rapper. Scurry was killed in front of his house the day after dropping his first music video, "Swing My Door."
