Morray shared his journey of signing with Interscope Records and collaborating with J. Cole on the Grammy-nominated track "My Life." Signing with Interscope was a pivotal moment for Morray, who expressed excitement about joining a label that has worked with artists he admires, such as J. Cole and DaBaby. The deal, which provided him with the most money he had ever seen at once, enabled him to purchase a house outright, marking a significant personal milestone.
Morray's connection with J. Cole began even before the Interscope contract, with Cole reaching out to him for potential collaboration. This connection materialized on J. Cole's album "The Off-Season," where Morray lent his soulful vocals to the track "My Life," featuring 21 Savage. Morray noted the ease of working with Cole, as they collaborated on blending their musical styles. The track, which samples Styles P's work and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, brought Morray widespread recognition and a Grammy nomination.
