Gillie Da Kid recently sat down with Shannon Sharpe, and at one point, he spoke about his interview with the late Chicago rapper King Von.

Gillie explained that Von was gunned down in Atlanta just days after their interview, and he got emotional speaking about one of the last things that Von told him. Gillie told Shannon, "He said, 'Gillie, s*** don’t even be that deep. But, us young guys don’t know how to talk to each other."

Gillie added, "And that stuck with me, because if only young guys took the chance to talk to each other, they would realize, 'Bruh, I don’t even want to be beefing with you.'" He went on to say that the rappers never get the chance to work things out.

Gillie also spoke about the generational differences between him and today’s young people, stating that his generation looked up to the street guys, while kids today look up to the "crash out" shooters.
