Atlanta police are holding rapper Lil Baby responsible for allegedly igniting a violent gang war that led to the murders of two 13-year-old boys, following a triple shooting on the set of his May 2024 music video.
During a press conference on Wednesday (Feb. 26), Major Ralph Woolfolk of the Atlanta Police Department announced the arrests of seven individuals connected to the July 2024 killings of Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman. The two boys were fatally shot during an ambush at Freeman’s birthday party, a crime authorities say was part of an escalating gang conflict.
“This was gang violence orchestrated by adults,” Woolfolk stated. “And the cowardly actions of an Atlanta-based rapper who knowingly entered a rival gang stronghold where he had no business being.”
According to arrest warrants obtained by Channel 2 Action News, the rapper in question is Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones.
Woolfolk concluded the press conference with a firm warning: “This team will work relentlessly to hold you accountable,” a statement many believe was directed at Lil Baby.
