Lil Baby and his legal team are pushing back against reports claiming the rapper is in federal custody after Atlanta police allegedly blamed him for the deaths of two teenagers.
As speculation spread online, Lil Baby took to Instagram to shut down the rumors. In his Instagram Stories, he reassured fans, writing, "Thanks for all the concerns. Please don't be misinformed by fake news. I'm overly good."
Shortly after, his attorney, Drew Findling, issued a statement condemning the claims. "The part of the press conference on Wednesday by the Atlanta Police Department that made an obvious reference to Dominique Jones [Lil Baby] was complete and total nonsense," Findling stated. "To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his hometown—a place he loves and has continually uplifted—is disgraceful. Furthermore, the location for a major music video shoot is a decision made by a professional team, not by any individual."
Findling went on to denounce the association of Lil Baby's name with the case. "Bringing his name into a conversation regarding a terrible crime for which he had absolutely no involvement is unprofessional, unethical, and shameful," he continued. "Dominique is devastated about the situation because those children came from the same neighborhood he did, and he will continue to build up his community in any way he can."
