A tense exchange unfolded at the White House as former President Donald Trump reportedly clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting aimed at discussing the ongoing war with Russia.
According to sources, Trump criticized Zelensky for what he perceived as a lack of gratitude for U.S. support. "You're not acting at all thankful," Trump allegedly told the Ukrainian leader, expressing frustration over continued aid requests. He also warned Zelensky, "You're gambling with World War III," suggesting that Ukraine’s stance could escalate global tensions.
Zelensky pushed back, insisting he respected the United States and had expressed his gratitude. "I have all the respect for your country," he said. "I said thanks." However, Trump reportedly spoke over him, further escalating tensions.
The disagreement led to the abrupt cancellation of a scheduled joint press conference, and Zelensky left the White House shortly afterward.
Following the meeting, Trump took to social media to declare, "I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for peace."
Zelensky later responded on Twitter, stating, "Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that."
The heated encounter has sparked widespread debate, highlighting the ongoing strain in U.S.-Ukraine relations as the war with Russia continues.
