Lil Baby recently sat down with DeepCut Podcast host VicBlends, where he was asked to rank his top five rappers from Atlanta—a challenge that even he admitted wasn’t easy.
The WHAM rapper included himself in the mix but hesitated when it came to his placement, saying, “That’s hard ‘cause I don’t know how to rank myself.” However, he confidently named Future, 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti as his other top picks.
When asked to rank the four, he replied, “Future, Slime, Savage, then Carti… for sure.”
The conversation sparked debate online, with fans questioning why Lil Baby ranked Future above Young Thug—his longtime friend and mentor. Others noted that names like OutKast, Migos, and Gunna were left out of the conversation.
Gunna’s absence was particularly notable given Lil Baby’s comments about him following the YSL RICO case. Back in December, Baby addressed Gunna’s situation, stating:
"I'm always gonna look at certain stuff a certain way. It boils down to what we rapping about… We can't rap about that if you did that. If I was making Christmas music, then I don't give a damn what you did."
Lil Baby has yet to address the online reactions to his list, but one thing is clear—his ranking has sparked plenty of conversation among Atlanta rap fans.
