Elon Musk addressed the recent X outage during an interview with Fox Business Network host Larry Kudlow, following the platform’s massive disruption on Monday (March 10).
When asked about the cause of the outage, Musk claimed that a large-scale cyberattack targeted the platform, stating, "We’re not sure exactly what happened. But there was a massive cyberattack to try to bring down the X system, with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area."
Musk did not provide further details or evidence to support his claim, which has since been met with skepticism.
Cybersecurity expert Alex Plitsas of the Atlantic Council pushed back against Musk’s theory, telling The Post, "It makes absolutely no sense for Ukrainian hackers to attack Elon Musk the day before a meeting between the United States and Ukraine—especially when they are attempting to get the U.S. to resume intelligence sharing, provide aid, and work toward a peace agreement that has been in question since the Oval Office visit."
As speculation swirls over the true cause of the outage, Musk’s comments have sparked further debate, with many questioning the validity of his claims.
