Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama was named as a suspect following an armed robbery at a Los Angeles smoke shop under the guise of a music video shoot, according to ABC 7.
The LAPD responded to reports of a robbery at Hubci Smoke Shop on Melrose Avenue around 9 p.m. on Thursday (March 13). Authorities say the suspects lured two videographers to the location under the pretense of filming a music video. However, once inside, the videographers were held at gunpoint, pistol-whipped, and robbed of their jewelry and firearms.
The attack left both victims injured—one suffered a head wound, while the other had teeth knocked out.
After the robbery, the suspects fled in two separate vehicles—a yellow Lamborghini Urus and a black BMW. Police tracked the Lamborghini 30 minutes later, but when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver led officers on a 40-minute chase.
The pursuit ended in Santa Rosa Valley, where Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects. However, the occupants of the BMW managed to escape, and authorities believe there were a total of eight suspects involved—one of whom is suspected to be Lil Zay Osama.
As the investigation continues, police are working to locate the remaining suspects and determine the full extent of their involvement.
