VladTV's own DJ Vlad recently sat down with Bootleg Kev to discuss the business of interviews, specifically paying artists for their time. Vlad explained that interviews were traditionally unpaid, but his approach shifted when he saw many artists, including comedians, struggling financially, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When speaking about his first paid interview on VladTV, Vlad revealed that it was with Keefe D, a key figure in the 2Pac murder discussions. Though Vlad did not disclose the amount he paid Keefe D, he noted that it was a turning point for the platform. Over time, other regular guests, like Boosie, were also compensated.

Vlad stated, "Boosie wasn’t getting paid during his early interviews, but we worked out a payment system. It’s mutually beneficial—his brand grew from our interviews, and our brand grew from having him."

Vlad also clarified that payments don’t necessarily dictate content restrictions. However, certain high-profile negotiations, such as a potential interview with O.J. Simpson, came with conditions. Despite differing opinions, Vlad believes his approach benefits both content creators and interviewees, allowing VladTV to evolve and maintain strong relationships with major artists and influencers.
