Kanye West took to X once again, continuing his stream-of-consciousness-style rants this week—this time, naming his Top 12 Rap Kings.
His list included himself, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Drake, Biggie, 2Pac, 50 Cent, Eminem, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Nas, and Rakim. After sharing the list, Ye asked his followers if he had left anyone out. Social media users quickly pointed out two glaring omissions: Kendrick Lamar and André 3000.
Kanye, who has been vocal in his criticism of Kendrick this week, doubled down on his stance, calling the Compton rapper a "puppet" and admitting that he doesn't like his music. Now, he's defending his decision to leave Kendrick off the list, writing, "KENDRICK WAS NEVER KING. MAYBE KING OF THE WEST COAST, BUT NEVER KING OF THE WORLD."
Ye didn’t stop there. He went on to claim that Soulja Boy is more influential than Kendrick and even accused Kendrick of ruining Playboi Carti’s latest album, I AM MUSIC.
As expected, Kanye's comments sparked a heated debate among fans, with some defending Kendrick’s legacy and others siding with Ye’s controversial take.
