Gene Borrello, a former Bonanno Crime Family associate-turned-informant, was arrested over the weekend on charges of stalking and domestic violence.

The 40-year-old was taken into custody in Miami-Dade County around 1 a.m. on Saturday (March 22). He faces a misdemeanor charge of stalking and two felony charges, including strongarm robbery and battery. Authorities have yet to release details of the incident that led to his arrest.

According to a post on his Instagram Story, Borrello bonded out of jail sometime on Sunday. Following his release, he promoted a party at Moxies, a restaurant chain in Florida. His arraignment is scheduled for next month.

Borrello first made headlines in 2014 when he was arrested for leading a violent home invasion ring in Howard Beach, Queens. He later pleaded guilty to racketeering in 2016 and agreed to cooperate as a government witness. His testimony reportedly helped convict 21 mobsters, earning him a time-served sentence of five years in 2019.

Despite his cooperation with authorities, Borrello has continued to have legal troubles. In 2021, he was arrested for allegedly threatening to murder his ex-girlfriend’s husband and assault her father after she refused to allow him to use a photo in his book. Since his release, Borrello has pursued a career as a podcaster and author, but his legal troubles persisted. In 2023, he was arrested again for violating the terms of his release, accused of associating with criminals and participating in organized crime-related podcasts.
