During Monday’s (March 24) episode of Sherri, host Sherri Shepherd shared a dramatic encounter she had with an "unnamed celebrity" at the premiere of Denzel Washington's new Broadway production, Othello.
Sherri recalled the moment to her audience, saying, “She grabbed my arm and forcefully turned me around… and she says to me, ‘You’ve been shading me a lot.’”
Denying any ill intent, Sherri pushed back, adding, “You don’t get to grab me and turn me around like we’re in a daggum cartoon and just walk away!”
Determined to clear the air, Sherri revealed that she even waited for the celebrity in the bathroom, hoping for a conversation—but the mystery figure never showed. Instead, she extended an open invitation for them to join her on Sherri to hash things out, emphasizing that she has actually defended them in the past.
After much speculation, a source later told Page Six that the unnamed celebrity was none other than actress Nia Long. Fueling the rumors, Nia seemingly played into the buzz by posting a cryptic Instagram photo captioned, “About last night,” along with a snapshot of her Othello Playbill.
Could this be the latest Hollywood feud, or just a misunderstanding? Fans will have to wait and see if Nia takes Sherri up on her offer.
