Following his record-breaking achievement, Playboi Carti took to Instagram to celebrate, posting a screenshot of the numbers along with a cryptic caption: "@ft.gioo Ya ex could never." The tag pointed to his ex, Giovanna Ramos, but fans quickly speculated that the "ex" in question might actually be Lil Yachty.
The theory gained enough traction that Yachty felt compelled to set the record straight. He took to Twitter, writing, "I never dated gio 4 da record. Was always platonic." However, he later deleted the tweet, fueling further speculation that there could be underlying tension between the two rappers.
This isn’t the first time Yachty has been linked to Carti in controversy. In 2023, DJ Akademiks claimed that Yachty admitted to adjusting his rap style to sound more like Carti. Yachty swiftly denied the claim, responding, "@Akademiks u r so insane, I didn’t tell u this at all. Stop drinking bro. I said Tyler encouraged me to take that route.
