Joe Tacopina, the attorney for rapper ASAP Rocky, defended his client by revealing that ASAP Rocky used a prop gun during his incident with ASAP Relli. Tacopina clarified that this was not an abrupt defense strategy but was known from their first conversation years prior. He stated that the prosecution was attempting to mislead by portraying it as a last-minute invention. According to Tacopina, ASAP Rocky, who was not licensed to carry a firearm at the time, was advised by his manager to use a prop gun for protection. This came after several violent incidents and without full-time security. Tacopina mentioned there was substantial evidence supporting the claim that the gun was a starter pistol, including witnesses who testified to its fake nature. Despite skepticism, including Vlad's concern that carrying a prop gun could be dangerous, Tacopina argued that the evidence showed it wasn't a real weapon.
