Eugene "Big U" Henley has been charged in a sweeping 43-count indictment alongside six others, with prosecutors alleging that he operated his "Big U Enterprise" as a mafia-like organization.

The Los Angeles Attorney’s Office unveiled the indictment on Thursday (March 27), accusing the 58-year-old music executive of being a leader within the Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips. Among the charges, Henley is accused of orchestrating the 2021 murder of aspiring rapper Rayshawn Williams, whose body was found in a North Las Vegas desert.

Additionally, Henley faces allegations of fraudulent activity, including misusing COVID-19 relief funds and embezzling money from his nonprofit organization, Developing Options.

Acting United States Attorney Joseph McNally emphasized the severity of the charges, stating, "As the indictment alleges, Mr. Henley led a criminal enterprise whose conduct ranged from murder to sophisticated fraud that included stealing from taxpayers and a charity. Eradicating gangs and organized crime is the Department of Justice’s top priority. Today's charges against the leadership of this criminal outfit will make our neighborhoods in Los Angeles safer."

Henley is set to be arraigned on April 8, with a detention hearing scheduled for April 10. If convicted on all counts, he faces a potential life sentence.
