Dallas rapper Yella Beezy was released from jail on Friday (March 28), one day after his bond was reduced from $2 million to $750,000.

The rapper, whose real name is Markies Deandre Conway, was arrested last week on allegations that he paid a hitman to kill fellow Dallas rapper Mo3 in 2020.

Court documents outline the strict conditions of Yella Beezy’s release. He must remain on house arrest with an ankle monitor, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and surrender his passport. Additionally, he is prohibited from possessing any deadly weapons or contacting witnesses, victims, or co-defendants in the case. Any travel outside of Dallas and Denton County requires court approval.

During his bond hearing on Thursday, prosecutors argued that he should not be granted bond. His grandmother, Alma Jean Alexander, testified in court, where she was questioned about her grandson’s financial status. Prosecutors pointed to his ownership of expensive bulletproof vehicles and a mansion, questioning why he could not afford the initial $2 million bond. When asked if Yella Beezy was still "substantially wealthy," Alexander responded, "He might used to be. But if he could make a $2 million bond, he’d be out."
