Reggie Wright Jr provided a gripping account of an incident at the 1996 Soul Train Music Awards. Tensions were high between the influential record labels Bad Boy Records and Death Row, represented by Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, respectively. Suge Knight was furious over Biggie's opportunity to open the Soul Train Awards, a privilege that Suge felt should belong to Tupac in their home region of Los Angeles. As a response, Suge allegedly bought 50 tickets for supporters, intending to disrupt Biggie’s performance by storming the stage.

Reggie Wright Jr, who was closely working with Suge, became aware of this plan. He decided to alert security, managed by LAPD's Keith Davis, about the incoming disruption, effectively thwarting the scheme. Though Suge eventually found out about Reggie’s intervention, dubbing him “Judas,” Reggie views his actions as salvaging what could have been a disastrous moment in hip-hop history.
