Singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been convicted on federal wire fraud charges after being found guilty on all counts following a five-day trial. The charges include one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud.

Following the verdict, the judge recommended that Turner remain incarcerated at the Miami Federal Detention Center until sentencing. Meanwhile, Kingston will remain out on bond, though his release conditions have been modified to include home detention with electronic monitoring. He is also required to surrender $200,000 in cash to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Both Kingston and Turner are scheduled for sentencing on July 11 and face a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Their attorneys have already announced plans to appeal. Kingston’s lawyer stated, “We do not agree with the verdict. We are thankful that Mr. Kingston was allowed to remain out on bond while awaiting sentencing. We will file an appeal at that time.”

Following the trial, Kingston took to Instagram to show support for his mother, writing, “My only queen forever, love you!!!! I promise you this is not the end!” In a separate post, he added, “Lately they been tryna break me on the daily 💔.”
