Stephen A. Smith didn’t hold back after MSNBC writer Ja'han Jones accused him of being a "megaphone for MAGA propaganda."
On his YouTube show, Smith fired back at the claim, pushing back against what he sees as a problematic mindset. “Let me express to you what I think about what he wrote,” he began. “I think that’s the exact problem with the left. If I don’t agree with you, I must be MAGA? I must be pushing propaganda? I don’t view it that way.”
He continued, defending his approach to political discussions. “Pointing out issues with the Democratic Party makes me a bad guy? Makes me a megaphone for the right? I’m not that dude. On this platform, it’s very, very important that I talk to everybody I can.”
Jones had specifically called out Smith for interviewing controversial right-wing figures like Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro. In response, Smith pointed to the range of guests he’s had on his show—including prominent Democrats.
“Did you bring up Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania? Did you bring up Wes Moore, the governor of Maryland? Did you bring up Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader in the House of Representatives?” he asked. “He was on this show. Did you bring up Areva Martin, a legal analyst on the Left, who was part of Kamala Harris’ campaign?”
Smith didn’t stop there, listing more Democratic figures he’s interviewed. “What about Cory Booker, the senator from New Jersey? How about Cornel West? He’s been on the show. There are videos, Ja’han Jones. I get that you’re a busy guy—you might have missed them.”
With his signature intensity, Smith made it clear he won’t be boxed into any political label, reinforcing his commitment to engaging with voices from all sides.
