DJ Yella of the iconic rap group NWA talked about Eazy-E's business acument, suggesting that while Eazy was a great businessman in the streets, he wasn't as knowledgeable in the music industry. Yella felt Eazy was making business decisions based on what he was told by other industry professionals and didn't know about the deals he was signing. Yella said the group should've had individual managers to prevent the issues that ultimately led to NWA's breakup. He also reacted to TK Kirkland claiming Eazy-E made $22 million off of the "Straight Outta Compton" album.
