Young Scooter’s son and namesake took to Instagram to challenge reports that his father died from a leg injury while attempting to flee police by jumping a fence.
Kenneth Edward Bailey Jr. recounted a conversation he had with an officer, writing, “I’m in the back of the police car, and he gone say, ‘I’m the one who was chasing your dad. He really got away from us when he jumped those two fences. But we heard him yelling—he broke his leg. If he didn’t break his leg, he would’ve been gone.’”
Bailey Jr. went on to express his suspicion about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death, stating, “I know what they did to him. Just said this s** last night! She wake me up this morning and say, ‘You was right.’ Folks hurt my whole family. They gotta feel this s***.”*
His statement comes after the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s report ruled Young Scooter’s cause of death as a “penetrating injury of the right thigh.” The report further detailed, “Mr. Bailey sustained a penetrating injury to his right thigh that resulted in significant blood loss. This injury was not a gunshot wound. Mr. Bailey injured himself on organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence.”
