Swamp Izzo reflects on his early days in Atlanta and his pivotal role in crafting Young Scooter's inaugural mixtape, "Plug Talk." Upon arriving in Atlanta, Izzo connected with local talents and began fostering relationships that played a significant role in the city’s hip-hop scene. Despite his primary investment in a friend, Izzo found himself surrounded by budding artists like Young Scooter and Future, who at that time used the moniker "Kid the Future." Despite the promising lineup, which included a song featuring Future, Young Scooter's debut mixtape initially failed to gain traction. However, Swamp Izzo's efforts and belief in the underground scene helped catalyze Future's career, pushing him towards achieving mainstream success. With tracks recorded at a singular hub on Atlanta's Eastside, the mixtape laid the groundwork for Future's rise.
