DJ Yella shared insights about Eazy-E’s financial struggles before his untimely death. Yella disclosed that just two months before Eazy-E passed away in 1995, he witnessed Eazy-E documenting his financial woes, clocking in at a staggering $1 million in debt. DJ Yella noted that the rapper bore numerous expenses, including housing and studio costs for artists under his umbrella, which contributed to his financial strain.
Despite the success of acts like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony—whose album eventually went multi-platinum—the influx of revenue was not immediate, leaving the label’s finances in a precarious state at the time. While Eazy-E's fortune was reportedly considerable, DJ Yella emphasized his detachment from Eazy-E’s personal affairs and financial dealings, maintaining focus solely on his own endeavors.
