Swamp Izzo recently sat down with VladTV, where he opened up about his work on Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated I AM MUSIC album — and addressed rumors surrounding Kanye West’s involvement in the project.

During the conversation, DJ Vlad brought up Kanye’s claim that Carti had removed him from the album. In response, Swamp Izzo clarified that Carti and Kanye have been collaborating — and still are.

“Carti and Kanye are working together,” he emphasized, pushing back on any narrative that there’s been a falling out.

Swamp went on to explain that Kanye’s vocals were never removed from the album — they simply didn’t make the final cut. According to him, Carti recorded a staggering 130 tracks, which had to be narrowed down to just 30.

When Vlad pointed out that Kanye produced on the album but didn’t appear vocally, Swamp confirmed: “Exactly!”

Kanye later addressed the interview on X, shifting the focus to a more personal issue. “But n**** what do both of y’all got to say about him calling my baby mom and mentioning Skims,” he wrote.

Ye was referring to his previous claims that Playboi Carti reached out to Kim Kardashian for permission to use their daughter North West’s vocals on the album. Carti also name-dropped Kim’s shapewear brand on the track “Fine S**.”*

“I bought that h** a lot of clothes, but she love her Skims / The money gon’ talk,” Carti raps on the Cash Cobain-produced song.

After the song dropped, Kanye vented his frustration online, writing:
“HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER. HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR. NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME.”

As tensions continue to simmer online, fans are left wondering whether the behind-the-scenes drama will impact future collaborations between Carti and Ye — or if this is just another bump in the road for two of hip-hop’s most unpredictable artists.
