Lil Wayne recently sat down for a cover interview with Rolling Stone, where he opened up about everything from his music legacy to being passed over for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. While his decision to stop pursuing the coveted performance is making headlines, it’s another moment from the interview that has the internet talking.

During the conversation, journalist Andre Gee brought up Watch the Throne—the iconic collaborative album between Kanye West and JAY-Z. Wayne’s response? A puzzled, “What’s that?”

When Gee clarified, “Kanye and JAY-Z’s album,” Wayne doubled down with a genuinely shocked, “They did an album?”

According to Rolling Stone, Gee then spent the next five minutes playing standout tracks from the 2011 project, eventually jogging Wayne’s memory. He recognized “N****s in Paris” and “No Church in the Wild,” but the interaction left fans stunned.

Adding fuel to the fire, fans quickly reminded each other of the tension between Wayne and Jay-Z at the time of the album’s release. On Watch the Throne’s “H•A•M,” Jay famously rapped, “You got baby money,” a line widely believed to be aimed at Wayne and his Cash Money label boss Bryan “Baby” Williams.

Wayne clapped back on his 2011 album Tha Carter IV, spitting, “Talking 'bout baby money? I got your baby money /Kidnap your b***h, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money.”

The resurfaced exchange has reignited debates online about rap beefs, industry shade, and whether Wayne’s forgetfulness was genuine—or a subtle play at brushing off the legendary duo’s album.
