Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team has filed a motion to hold Tory Lanez in contempt of court, claiming he derailed a scheduled deposition by acting “disruptive” and “inflammatory” throughout the proceedings.

The deposition relates to an ongoing defamation lawsuit involving a social media personality whom Megan’s attorneys allege acted “at the behest and command of” Lanez. According to court documents, the session was so chaotic and unproductive that Megan’s team ultimately deemed it “a waste of time.”

“[Lanez] refused to treat his deposition with any seriousness,” the filing states. “In the 44 minutes on the record, [Lanez] feigned ignorance regarding the definition of basic words, such as ‘discuss’ and ‘approve’; harassed [Megan’s] counsel about her appearance; interrupted questioning to confer with his and [co-defendant Milagro Cooper’s] attorneys; and pretended the video equipment was malfunctioning—even though prison staff confirmed it was working properly.”

On Thursday (April 17), a judge sided with Megan’s legal team and ordered Lanez to respond by April 30, explaining why he should not be held in contempt for “violating the court’s order authorizing his deposition.”
