Tank Shares Updated List of Top R&B Vocalists on Instagram
On Tuesday (April 22), acclaimed R&B singer Tank took to Instagram to reveal an updated list of his top R&B vocalists, dividing the artists into male and female categories.
Tank explained that his selections were based on four key vocal attributes: range, dynamics, control, and agility.
Among the male vocalists, Tank named legends like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Charlie Wilson, and contemporary stars such as Usher and Chris Brown—as well as himself.
His list of female vocalists featured powerhouses like Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Brandy, and Beyoncé, among others.
In the caption, Tank also addressed a common fan debate, writing, "Stop saying R. Kelly is a better singer than Usher! HE IS NOT—and that’s saying a lot coming from me, because Kellz is my favorite artist. But this is not about favorites." 🙏🏾
