New allegations involving Shannon Sharpe and a former girlfriend have resurfaced as the sports commentator faces a $50 million civil lawsuit.
In 2023, Michele Bundy Evans filed a lawsuit accusing Sharpe of defamation, libel, and slander—following prior allegations of sexual assault. Evans claims the former NFL star became violent during a 2010 confrontation over alleged infidelity.
In court documents, Evans alleged that Sharpe “proceeded to forcefully subdue [her], compelling [her] to [her] knees and subsequently engaging in non-consensual oral penetration.”
“Consumed by fear and the perplexing nature of his actions,” she continued, “I harbored a deep-seated apprehension that resistance would precipitate further detrimental outcomes.”
Evans further alleged that Sharpe threatened to destroy her reputation if she ever spoke out. “He levied threats of ruin,” she said, “declaring that any attempt on my part to disclose his transgressions would be met with a comprehensive campaign to ‘use everyone I know to destroy you.’”
Evans claims she ultimately dropped the original lawsuit after Sharpe allegedly made public remarks about the case on his social platforms. She also alleges that a stranger appeared at her apartment, telling her to “shut up, b****,” which she interpreted as a threat. Fearing for her safety and that of her young daughter, she says she withdrew the case.
A spokesperson for Sharpe has denied the allegations, telling Page Six, “Michele Evans’ claims are ridiculous and completely without merit,” adding, “Shannon has had no contact with her for many years.”
